Jock Safari Lodge **** KRUGER NATIONAL PARK |

|
Jock Safari Lodge is the first private lodge set in the heart of Africa's premier wildlife reserve, the Kruger National Park. Situated in the southern area of the Park at the confluence of the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers, half way between Skukuza and Malelane Airports, it is approximately 35km to both airports with only 3km of dirt road. This luxury lodge incorporates the romance and elegance of the past colonial era, and reflects in its unique style the indigenous Zulu and Shangaan cultures. The lodge is surrounded by magnificent trees and an abundance of bird life. Track roads take one in comfortable Landrovers with qualified rangers and trackers into 6 000 hectares of bushveld with exclusive traversing rights into the Park in an area that is regarded as one of the best in the Kruger for its Big 5 sightings. This was also the first private concession set in over 5.5 million hectares of Kruger National Park – equivalent to the size of Wales. Sightings of animals, including the BIG FIVE, can be seen while relaxing around the rock pool or from the comfort and privacy of your own room. Game drives in open Landrovers, with our professional team of game rangers and trackers, offer guests the thrill of close encounters with the animals. In addition, Walking Safaris, Birding Safaris and guided Historical tours will help you to interpret the signs, sounds and scents of wild animals in this unspoilt wilderness. Twelve luxury air conditioned suites, each with their own private sala overlook the river as do the romantic bathrooms and outdoor showers. Jock’s offer an African cuisine which incorporates an abundance of flavours. The head chef of Jock and her passionate team conjure up dishes of legendary proportions, allowing your taste buds to follow their own African journey. The cuisine is presented in a variety of locations; from Silver service in the elegant dining room, to an eating adventure under the panorama of the African night. Located in the Southern Hemisphere, the Kruger Park has its share of rain and hot weather. During the summer months (September-April), the Park experiences sporadic rainfall in the form of quick thunder showers. April through August represent the winter months in Southern Africa which in turn means very little rain. The temperatures average from 30 C (86 F) in January (summer) to 230C (730F) in July (winter). The average nightly temperature can range from 7-180C (45-640F) (January) and most certainly freezing in July. Our Opinion:
